Growing Up Without Electricity: My Story

Life in the Dark

I grew up in a small village in Africa where electricity was a luxury we only heard about. Our homes were lit by kerosene lamps, and once the sun set, our world became much smaller. Studying, cooking, and even walking outside at night was a challenge.

The Struggles We Faced

Without electricity, simple tasks were harder. Children struggled to study, businesses closed early, and families spent money on expensive alternatives like battery-powered torches or generators. Healthcare was another major issue—our local clinic had no refrigeration for medicine, and women gave birth in dimly lit rooms.

A Moment of Realization

The first time I visited a city with steady electricity, I was amazed. People worked late, children studied freely, and hospitals operated smoothly. That’s when I realized how different life could be with access to power.

Why I Started This Blog

I wanted to share my story and those of others who still live in the dark. Through this platform, I hope to raise awareness and push for change. No one should be left behind in the modern world.
